food (one week) EURO 100 - 150 will be needed. For the single

PROGRAMME
Saturday,
11th April
Departure
from Larnaca. After arrival in Berlin, there will be a sightseeing
tour of the city. We will get to know the present-day as well
as
the ancient history of a city of symbolic significance due to its
well-known “Wall of Disgrace”.
We
will see, among others, the Gate of Brandenburg, Brandenburger
Tor, emblem of the city, then a part of the wall that
divided
the
capital until 1989. The historical Checkpoint Charlie, the
famous avenue Unter den Linden, the City Hall Rathaus,
the
church of St. Nicholas Nikolaikirche, the bombarded church of
the German empire Gedächtniskirche, the beautiful
palace
Charlottenburg, the parliament Reichstag, and many
other sights of the city.
Sunday,
12th April
Cruise
with a river boat. In the afternoon, stroll on the famous square
Alexanderplatz with its Red City Hall Rotes Rathaus
and
the fountains of Poseidon Neptunbrunnen, the T.V. tower
Fernsehturm and the famous clock Weltzeituhr, which
shows
the
time in all the countries of the world. In the evening, we will
visit a German restaurant of the area.
Monday,
13th April
Visit
to the fantastic museum of Pergamon Pergamonmuseum
with the treasures of Babylon and Pergamon e.g. the Gate of Milet,
the
mosaic of Orpheas, the Gate of Astartis, the statue of Socrates and
a lot other rare findings of the Greek, Roman, Babylonian,
and
Islamic civilization. The afternoon is free.
Tuesday,
14th April
Trip
to Potsdam, the official capital of the various German
empires. Here we will admire the most beautiful palace Sans
Sousi with its
wonderful
gardens, the legendary palaces of Emperor William, which date back
to the times of Frederic the Great. In the afternoon,
stroll
on the most frequented square of Europe till the Second World War,
the Potsdamer Platz.
Unfortunately,
the Wall divided the square for quite a lot of years. After the fall
of the Berlin Wall in 1989, it started to develop its old shape
again.
In
the evening, visit to a Greek restaurant.
Wednesday,
15th April
We
will visit the new and old church (destroyed during the war)
Gedächtniskirche with its fantastic mosaics which are
preserved until today.
Afterwards,
we will walk on the well frequented Berlin Avenue
Kurfürstendamm and then we will go for shopping in the big
department
stores
of this area.
Thursday,
16th April
Visit
to the famous palace Charlottenburg of the 17th
century, in Baroque style, an exceptional building with wonderful
gardens.
It
was built during the reign of King Frederic the First in honour of
his wife Charlotte. In the afternoon, visit to the new parliament,
and
in the evening, dinner in a restaurant.
Friday,
17th April
The
morning is free for last shopping. At midday,
preparations for return.

During
the trip we will see a lot more sights. The programme is liable to
changes only concerning the dates of the various
activities.
